The only great move from India Yamaha Motors in this decade in India was that they launched Yamaha R15 in India. A bike that made Indians to desire sports bikes. Yamaha R15 is a perfect clone of the higher version in lesser power engine and lower price tag.

There had been some rumors past few month that another version of Yamaha R15 is going to enter Indian market. Some said it was Yamaha R125, a 125cc version of the former but details were never out. And finally some clues have erupted over the refurbishment of the existing model.

The bike will be same on technical specifications as well on the power but physical treatment will be observed.

Changed Rear Fender

Re-Designed Rear Grab Rails

Revamped Seat

Changes In Exhaust Muffler

Different Alloys

There may be many who will be waiting for the enhanced version of Yamaha R15 (may be a 200cc variant or higher power version) but this shall make sure for the company as how market demands this beast and what shall be the future step. There are many bikes in 2011 line up from different manufacturers including Honda CBR250R and KTM Duke 200. This move will help Yamaha to make some early business and set up a new market prior to new releases.

And regarding new Yamaha R15, rest of the details are expected to be out soon. Now this is the time for Yamaha to do business once again in lacs/unit.

Bajaj-KTM

The high-performance range of street bikes to be launched from the Bajaj-KTM collaboration are expected to carry a price tag of more than Rs 100,000 each.

Both companies have been involved in the development of a variety of motorcycles over the past 24 months, starting from 125cc.

The first of these bikes would be launched in the European market by the end of this year, followed by the India launch during the first half of next year.

Rajiv Bajaj, managing director, Bajaj Auto, said, "Whatever product will be out in the market will be at a very significant premium as against brands like the Pulsar. Else, what is the use of bringing such a product?"

The Rs 100,000 or more cost for the Bajaj-KTM range of 125cc bikes would be more than twice the average price of a 125cc bike sold presently in India. These are priced at Rs 43,000-Rs 46,000

Kawasaki Ninja 250R

Kawasaki Ninja 250R

Kawasaki has marketed the Ninja 250R since 1986 as an entry-level sport motorcycle intended for use on paved roads.

It is not going to compete with R15 and Karizma ZMR because of its high price tag(about 2.69 lakhs ). Bajaj is going to import the Ninja250R. They plan to sell around 1000 units of the Ninja 250R.

Ninja 250R is the best looking 250cc sports bike in its segment. Though there is no direct competition to Ninja 250R as it is the only proper 250cc bike on sale in India. It comes with complete fairing with large plastic and steel parts. Ninja 250R features a very aggressive look when viewed head-on, as it features dual-lamp headlamp.

Ninja 250R comes factory fitted with 6 spoke black alloy wheels which looks very stunning with racing strips at rim.

The instrument cluster of Ninja 250R disappoints a bit as it comes in analog format. Speedometer, odometer, trip meter and tachometer are in analouge mode. It looks a bit boring in comparison to other Indian bikes we are used to, like we have digital cum analog instrumet cluster for Apache RTR, Pulsar 220 and Karizma ZMR.

Performance Figures Of Kawasaki Ninja 250R:
1) 0-100km/h : 5.75 sec

2) Top speed : 176km/h

3) Fuel economy : 42.5 Kmpl

Hero Honda New Karizma ZMR

Hero Honda has finally launched the much awaited tourer bike - Karizma ZMR Fi in Indian Market. Karizma ZMR will be sold along with old Karizma model, Hero Honda has decided not to phase out Karizma R and sell both the models side by side. They don't want to end the competition for Apache 180 & Pulsar 220 as Karizma R is priced around Rs. 80,000.
The stance remains the same as the old Karizma which is still considered to be the best touring bike in India with smooth, refined and relaxed Honda engine at the helm. The major and much needed change is addition of programmed fuel injection (PGM-Fi) in the engine. Additionally it also gets disc brake at the rear, gas charged rear shock absorbers, little increase in power and torque. Hero Honda also started giving teaser advertisement on leading TV channels in which they show few glimpses of New ZMR's front fairing, headlight and tail light. And now they have started full commercial of Karizma ZMR featuring Hrithik Roshan. He drives the ZMR through water and dodges few tornados. ZMR looks quite stunning in white shade in the commercial with ZMR sticker in red shade. To view the TV commercial scroll down this review to images and videos section of Karizma ZMR.

Design & Style Of Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
In terms of looks the most visible change is heavy looking full front fairing with a lot of snazzy graphics with 'ZMR' stickers. Though it seems a liitle bit overworked and give Karizma ZMR a plasticky look. The designers at Hero Honda 'R&D' must have been a fan of Suzuki Hayabusa!! As far as new features are concerned the New Karizma ZMR gets all new headlamps with integrated blinkers and new tail lamps which are now LED ones.
The fit and finish is quite good, there are no panel gaps and paint quality is awesome. The rear view mirrors have been mounted on the front fairing a.k.a Yamaha R15, which is the best part of the facelift and it gives Karizma ZMR a very aggressive look if viewed from front. But the main problem is if you view the bike from side - the front doesn't gel with the slim looking rear. Hero Honda should have made the rear end a bit heavy to match it with the heavy front fairing. All in all, New Karizma ZMR looks much better than the outgoing model which started looking very outdated in comparison to the Yamaha R15, Bajaj Pulsar 220, TVS Apache RTR 180 & Honda CBF Stunner Fi.

Instrument Cluster & Features Of Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
The Intrument cluster is best looking part in Karizma ZMR. Insert the key and you are greeted with a long scrolling message which ends with "Bon Voyage Fly Safe". The display is now full digital including the tachometer which has been designed in round shape under a horizontal digital display which looks very cool especially at night.
The display also shows real time fuel consumption which is very helpful in maintaining good mileage. Other tell n tales include the speedometer, trip meter, fuel indicator, clock and rev counter. The switchgear remains the same and, in true Hero Honda fashion, there is no engine kill switch. The instrument cluster features dual colour illumination - the tachometer is lit in white while the rest gets an orange backlight.

10 New Design Features Of Hero Honda Karizma ZMR:
1. Full Front Fairing 2. Split Clip On Handle Bars 3. Split Rear Grab Rails 4. Mirrors Mounted On The Fairing 5. New Rear Mud Guard 6. New Headlamp & Tail Lamp Which Is Now LED 7. Rear Disc Brakes 8. Turn Indicators Mounted On Front Fairing 9. New Graphics 10. Slightly Reprofiled Body Work
Engine & Top Speed Of Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
New Karizma ZMR Fi is powered by the same 223cc engine but has been altered by Hero Honda engineers, now it gets fuel injection which has increased the maximum power to 17.6 Bhp at 7000 rpm which is up by 0.6 Bhp and maximum torque has been increased by .15 Nm which is now 18.35 Nm @ 6000 rpm.
Hero Honda has claimed top speed of 126 kmph and 0-60 km in 3.7 seconds in its official brochure but it is still slower than the current fastest bike in this segment - The Pulsar 220, which has top speed of 144 kmph. Also I expected much more power and torque from the altered Fuel Injected engine, Karizma ZMR should have been atleast touching around 20 Bhp with 21-23 Nm torque.

The PGM-Fi system is equipped with a 12 hole fuel injector, 16 bit ECU and 6 high-tech sensors to scan the engine operating parameters like air pressure, air temperature, and engine temperature to ensure the optimum air / fuel ratio under dynamic conditions. An advanced vertical oil cooler provides efficient cooling to the high performance engine and the IACV (Idle air control valve) ensures idle stability and smoothens response to throttle changes.

13 New Technical Features In Hero Honda Karizma ZMR:
1. PGM-Fi: Programmable Fuel Injection 2. 16 Bit ECU Processor For Rapid Digital Fuel Injection Mapping 3. Oil Cooled Engine 4. 12 Hole Fuel Injector For Better Atomization Of Fuel 5. Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Which Provides Different Fuel Mixtures At Different Temperatures 6. Intake Air Temperature Sensor Which Senses The Intake Air Temp To Determine & Supply The Optimum Air To Fuel Ratio 7. Throttle Position Sensor Which Detects Throttle Opening & Provides Input To The ECU 8. Crank Position Sensor Which Senses The Position & Time At Which Fuel Needs To Be Injected In Relation To Crank Angle 9. Oxygen Sensor Ensures Correct Air Fuel Ratio For The Catalytic Convertor 10. Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor 11. Idle Air Control Valve 12. Gas Charged Shock Absorbers 13. Rear Disc Brake

Shades Available In Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Hero Honda Karizma ZMR Is Available In Following Five Shades:
- Pearl White - Moon Yellow - Panther Black - Sports Red - Vibrant Blue
In my opinion Karizma ZMR looks best in Blue shade which gives it a bigger and meaner look. In yellow and red shades it looks a bit plasticky and down grade. Hero Honda has also introduced white shade with the launch of Karizma ZMR. The autorised dealers have started taking bookings of New Karizma, I visited a autorised dealer, they said that you can choose a shade and book your bike but the deliveries will start in first week of November.

Price Of Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
New Hero Honda Karizma ZMR has been priced at Rs. 91,000 (Ex-Showroom New Delhi). The price is on the higher side in comparison to Bajaj Pulsar 220 which comes almost 20,000 cheaper and is more powerful in comparison to Karizma Fi. But Karizma is Liquid Cooled and technically more advanced in comparison to Pulsar 220. Also Karizma ZMR is a quality product, there is no compromise in quality of materials and paint

NEW PULSAR 220

Bajaj India has come up with another facelift, this time it is their flagship bike - Pulsar 220. The new Bajaj Pulsar 220 F is reported to the fastest Indian bike ever built. Bajaj team has successfully reached the top speed of 144 kmph and thus made the bike as the fastest bike in the country . New Pulsar 220cc's gear ratio is optimized to achieve the top speed. Also Pulsar 220 F has been priced very competitively to its main rivals - Yamaha R15 & Karizma ZMR.
Bajaj has also launched the Street version of Pulsar 220 which has been priced around Rs. 3000/- than the Faired verison. Click here for more details of Bajaj Pulsar 220 S
Though Pulsar is not technically advanced like R15 & ZMR but if you compare the price then Pulsar 220 F is much better option. Pulsar 220 F is also more powerful with 21 Bhp on tap in Comparison to Karizma ZMR's 17.6 Bhp and Yamaha R15's 17 Bhp. So, if you wanna pay less for more power then simply go for New Pulsar 220 F.

Engine Of New Bajaj Pulsar 2200 F
New Bajaj Pulsar 220 F gets all new 220cc oil cooled carburetored engine with 21 Bhp of power at 8500rpm and 19 NM of torque. Other changes to the engine insides include new combustion chamber, all new port geometry for optimized thermodynamics, new valve coat material to eliminate cardon formation, new design short skirt lower friction piston, an all new camshaft and 33% larger oil cooler.
Pulsar 220 F gets the performance boost with 32 venturi carburettor, the bigest ever used in India. In addition, the intake port in the cylinder head has been modified, along with higher lift and duration cam. A larger resonator and catalytic convertor is also used to increase performance. It also uses temperature based ignition mapping system through which the ignition timing is optimized to acheive good startability, quick warm up and outstanding torque. Pulsar 220 F features the standard five speed gearbox with one down and four up pattern.

Design Of New Bajaj Pulsar 220 F
New Bajaj Pulsar 220 F looks better and smart than the outgoing model. It features all the ‘all-black’ theme like the recently launched new pulsar 150 & 180. Starting from the forks, swingarm, wheels and engine are all in a rich shade of black and that makes the bike look much leaner and meaner. It is the most stylish bike available in India after the Yamaha R15 & Karizma ZMR. Though it resembles its siblings in most sense the voluminous front fairing and the fairing mounted mirrors distinct the new Pulsar 220 F from others.
It comes with six spoke alloy wheels, stylish body panels, clear lens indicators and exposed chain. It offers a little under-seat storage cubby that can be unlocked via a cable release located under its lockable side panel. The new Pulsar 220 F also get the new 3-D graphics, redesigned console background and slightly revised clip-on handlebars. The tachometer face has also changed, while both front and rear brake callipers are now finished in gold.
